Violence and Abuse

Violence and Abuse - we can help

1 in 4 people that come to Relate Medway & North Kent  have suffered violence or abuse - you can talk to us.

If you are being hurt or threatened, or you are afraid for your own or your children's safety, counselling with your partner is not safe. If this is so, we would help each partner to get individual specialist support from Relate or another agency.

Our main concern is for you and your children. We can help you and work with you.

Useful contact numbers are;
  • Freephone the Domestic Violence helpline 0808 2000 247
  • NSPCC 0808 800 5000
  • The Police 0845 6060247
  • your local Social Services Department
If you have been violent or abusive to your partner, you can choose to stop.
Call Respect on 0845 122 8609.

If you tell us about domestic violence or child abuse and you are coming to us with your partner, your counsellor will not mention this to them.
